IGGRC is a collective force of Tribal Nations, united to lead the charge against climate change.

Our Commission is rooted in the deep reverence and understanding that Indigenous Peoples possess for our sacred lands and resources. Our ancestral knowledge has guided us as responsible stewards, cultivating sustainable ecosystems while respecting the delicate balance of nature. Today, as we face the grave threat of climate change, our duty is clear: to blend this traditional wisdom with innovative technologies, ensuring a sustainable future for our communities and our world.

For us, the carbon crisis isn’t just another challenge. It’s a chance to build a climate-friendly economy—and a just, accountable system for governing it. We can define climate solutions that foster the kind of development we actually want - solutions that truly work for Indigenous people, for our neighbors, and for the planet.
